Fleet ops? Sounds like fun.

Wow been really busy towards the end of this week. Many fleet ops with my new buddies over at the Caldari navy militia. Never been that into pvp the whole 'loose everything you worked for' kinda made me think its probably not a great idea. But this new militia thing unless your stupid like i was you really shouldn't take many losses. Unless you fly something that's guaranteed to get you primaried. (Primaried = Designated as main enemy) That will get you killed rapidly. Anyways on to my adventures, recently been flying a blackbird. Its a pretty awesome ship for SO cheap. It basically uses electromagnetic pulses of some kind too break the enemies targeting computers. Essentially stopping them firing for a period of time. This is pretty damn useful when your friends are being shot at. Unfortunately because its quite effective (especially if you focus on one ship) it makes people very very angry so its fairly likely you will get primaried. Me and a mate decided to take one each and see how far that gets us. Here's us fleeing for our lives.

That's us look how cool we are. Flying in space and all that. Its brilliant such an amazing game. We did pretty well racking up a huge amount of kills and wiping out half the damn Gallentes in a single blow! it was amazing. Something like 22 kills to 14 losses and our losses were rubbish ships. Like mine. We killed like 16 high quality battleships and lost only 3 in return, partially thanks to the brave efforts of the ECM pilots who all apart from a couple lost there lives, I didn't here the command to get in at a better range and I sit there blasting at point blank of a huge battleship. It didnt end well.... But anyway i really should post straight after forgot the other cool stuff that happened. check my killboard link. BYES!

Hi there. Got some interesting stuff to talk about, firstly Survival on left 4 dead. Its excellent, some of the best left for dead play since its release. Its hard, sure but its not silly hard like expert where you can be downed by a single women kicking you in the shins. You can cut through tons of enemies and finally be bought down in a glorious hail of gunfire. Its excellent and the 'come on surely we can do better than that last time' keeps you playing all night. During one excellent stand off we managed to survive on Terminal on Dead Air for nearly 15mins! 15!!! the devs managed only 10 and we can confirm that tanks were still spawning. They were defiantly there but a good autoshottie to the face led us to bring down 15 of the beasts. Truly an absolutely amazing result. We played a ton of games terminal being best we also did well on drains later on and had a awesome time with quad autoshottie in the hospital. With 2! tanks climbing from a single air vent. Fraps is fairly rarely turned on due to vista saying no your not allowed. I got this awesome screen of a double hunter attack.

Hilarious. Next we get on to the great war that is EVE.

Eves been pretty good recently Ive made an absolute ton of cash and can now afford to get a good selection of ships. Notably though we joined the Caldari navy militia it was a pretty damn good idea cause the fun i had.. ill tell you all about it. I set off from base to meet the militia fleet in nourvakiken. Got there with my mate and after a delay of about 15 mins we set off to hunt some enemy scum. Our commander was excellent his orders were clear and precise he set up some amazing baiting. I'm amazed he manged to co-ordinated everyone so well. Anyway here we are at the gate.

Ive blacked out all the chat as I'm sure some of that info could be used by our dastardly enemy! Loose lips sinks ships and all that. Anyways, There we all are sitting around the gate. We had a fairly sizable force was so awesome being part of such a fleet. Purple squares are friendly, Yellow squares are friendly pirates. I just grabbed my cruiser for this as i wanted to see how it went before risking something id miss. Stupidly i bought the wrong ammo with me XD Idiot. So i couldn't reload. wasn't planning to stick around forever just till i ran out of bullets. Anyway we got some reasonable sized engagements. Netting as far as i could see. 2x Heavy assault ships 1x Cruiser and a 1x Command ship. Pretty damn good going for my first try!

And i also got the kill mail for the Command ship as i was the last one to hit it before it exploded. So technically i killed it! WOO!

I killed a command ship. in a T1 cruiser(With no spare ammo). that's really not bad going.

Okay just a quick post to give my feelings on the survival pack. Wow its good. Me and a friend both had to bind a strong sware word to a key as we were saying it so often. If that tank punches me into the sea again there is going to be a MASSIVE falling out. Its amazing it has really revitalised the game for at least me and my friends there are just so many oh sh---!!! moments. Excellent piece of work Valve. And Valve? what are you doing to TF2 you crazy people!?! HATS! HATS! what the hell!!! anyway just a quick hi/rant Byeeee...!

In my last post I spoke of my return to MMO land in EVE online. EVE online is quite different to other MMO's it does away with the world of warcraft template and does something truly different. Its in space and its not a nice place this is the thing that will hit you as you play in your first few days. There are no "play nice children" banners flying, it really is all or nothing. The game isn't going to keep you safe it realllly isn't going to protect you. Losses can be crippling you can lose everything in an instant if you don't have your wits about you. People are rarely going to help you, more likely to just help until they lead you into an area where they can kill you safely and strip your carcass of all its wealth. There are some safe areas but its never truly safe. just safer. The game isn't going to protect you from your own stupidity. Scamming is commonplace its allowed. approved even. Its a harsh universe and your out there making the best of it. Ive been playing for around a year. It doesn't really do grinding something youd expect from an mmo. You "level" as you play it takes real life to time to learn how to do something you don't have to be at the computer the game doesn't even have to be on. You just learn e.g it takes 15 mins to learn how to use a new type of gun. There is no way of seeing how powerful an enemy is other than the size of his guns and the quickness of your death. In my experience it is a confusing first few days were you discover how immensely complex simply getting into space or buying something is. Everyone at some point will think they are buying something where they are but its really a million miles away sounds stupid its easier said than done.
This is my ship.

This is a Caldari Navy Raven a faction battleship. It took me absolutely ages to get and its awesome, sporting 7 cruise missile launchers and more shields than you can shake a stick at. I use it to shoot little tiny enemy ai's to gain money which i can spend buying ships to attempt to fight real players with. Its a simple quest mechanic. Go place kill enemies leave. :) easyish. There isn't a simple "you need this ship to do this" though. There isn't standard gear for each ship i can put quite a large selection of equipment on this ship, there are literally thousands of items. This is my standard setup i change parts occasional but its mostly complete. Here's a battle scene

I was Doing fairly well here. You have to play zoomed really far out. so you can actually see whats going on. but the red dots are enemies and the green dots are my drones which attack things for me. Anyway that's enough for this post more later !! Fairly crap day.

So today I got up late about 12ish, I didn't intend to, I wasn't late to bed the previous night but I had no trouble sleeping at all. Got up to quite a lot of stuff today despite waking up with a massive headache and wasting half the day. Thought id go on to the computer and see what people were up to, everyone it seemed had gone out so i was alone. Yesterday id managed to actually buy one of my favorite films V for vendetta for £3 it was such a good film I thought id better buy it.

So I made some lunch and I sat and watched it still an excellent film if you haven't seen it go and see it, it has a bit of everything. But be reasonable it hasn't got like Godzilla or Obama in or anything. Anyway excellent film. After this i decided it was time to sort the blog out. I really hated the orange skin and it had made a mess with the pictures so Ive redone this blue one which i think is better. However I forgot to save and had to do it all again later. I decided to go for some TF2... Team Fortress 2. A fortress of teams...

This is how I see the world these days through the scope of the sniper. I'm actually getting quite good these days. Still poor but better. I love TF2 its really pick up and play its excellent just to sit back and have a good snipe. So I messed about on that for aggeeess I thought id only have a quick go. Then I fixed the blog as I hadn't saved changes earlier. I hoped to have a lot more pictures but vista thought it was better to not. I put FRAPS into startup for easy screen capping through everything so Vista blocked it. I am clueless how to make vista behave cause I will forget to start it unless it does it for me. Ill have it fixed tomorrow. Probably.

After this I was getting annoyed at the total lack of people to talk too so next I had a few hours on GTA 4 for PS3. I picked this up second hand a week or so ago. I was put off by San Andreas and I doubted the series would ever return to being as good as Vice city was. I really hated the whole feel of San Andreas it seemed way to serious. This however is particularly excellent the story is pretty good and people bouncing of the bonnet of a stolen ambulance has never looked so good. This reminds me, me and a mate were playing online on one of the objective style modes and we were tasked to go to a place and kill stuff? I cant remember why but we had to get there and fast! My Friend had already reached the objective and he was asking were i was. I then plowed around the corner in a hijacked ambulance and stopped a few feet away. I really like to make a entrance.

Right. So there we have it that was my day with the crap parts taken out. Its all kinda a blur after that. My mates just got back from wherever hes been so ill go play some Eve. Oh yeah i'm an EVE online player so expect to hear some stuff about that. Right, back to that battleship. laters..

The LAN Party

OK, So we decided to have a bit of a LAN...
It started off badly, the game was left 4 dead, Expert. In an attempt to get the zombiecidel manic achievement. It seemed impossible over the Internet as all the servers we could join had pings higher than my score on TF2! :P Not good.

This was our aim to get this single achievement. Game on.

Sunday morning. I was first to arrive my computer in tow. I manged to not break anything at all on the way there. My friend hadn't really thought how we were gonna set this stuff up but luckily everything fell into place... We manged to find a old router in his loft and attempted to invoke some ancient arcane networking skills to get one wireless network to connect to the other wireless network. After that failed we realised we would have no Internet till someone with a working wireless card arrived. It took them hours. I arrived at 10 the 3rd player to arrive didn't get there till like 12... so I booted up UT3

Okay. So I just sat and played UT3 for an hour or so, thinking Id be more help if I just stayed quiet and tried to avoid breaking the router anymore. Not that I broke it in the first place you understand.. I forgot how good UT3 was I haven't got the titan pack for it yet though I really should. Ah the Flak Cannon how I have missed ye. After this bout of Unrealness player 3 had finally arrived. Player 4 was still... traveling? lost? he turned up a while after so we kicked off into L4D and my god. it was a massacre..

This is about as far as we got.. the second bloody room. Expert on left 4 dead is a continuous train wreck of tank deaths and pain.. The clever among you may have noticed an AI is on our team. Oh he was. Player 4 had decided to bring his LAN PC instead of his main, fair enough you say. However it was essentially broken. The artifacting on the screen (graphical errors caused by it being broken) created a snowstorm like landscape. where shooting anything was impossible, he would have been lucky to not go blind had he played for longer than a few minutes. So we continued without him while he attempted to fix it. Expert on left for dead, even if you can see your teammates and you all have 5 ping and your well fed is VERY difficult. I mean a tank a hunter a smoker and a boomer per person. continually throughout the entire level. The worst thing was small zombie females.. We didn't know what it was but they seemed to have some sort of uncanny ability to be behind you and simply hit you in the back. Killing you. Instantly.

So that was that. We got absolutely nowhere. A man down there was nowhere to run. Alas we tried.. we tried for hours and hours. We gave up eventually and were consigned to defeat even after player 4 grabbed his real PC and could actually play we fared little better.

We ended up playing race driver grid till it was time to go home. We had a good few races but it wasn't as white knuckle as when you here the DOO doo dooooooo of an approaching hoard of bloodthirsty zombies.

A good time was had by all. But I should totally not be allowed the hunting rifle ever again I sware I killed more teammates than zombies.

So achievement unlocked..? Not. even. close.

First post! Woo! no wait. of course its my first post as i made this crazy place. Welcome take a seat, kick back and relax as we venture into the Internets!

Ok, So, basically i'm gonna write and someone hopefully will listen. Its late, im really quite tired but i thought i better kick of with something, anything.

On this blog ill discuss whatever is on my mind at the time ill put pics on. It will be brilliant, probably. ill try and keep updates frequent but im a lazy so and so so.. it really may not be.

Ill kick off properly tommrow i had no idea how late it was.
